French champagne to celebrate 50 years on this earth and with a beautiful setting sun

We came for a two day/one night stay for my 50th birthday on 23 to 24 September 2013. We stayed in the luxurious cabins. The whole resort experience was first class, from the genuine professional warm welcome to the leaving. Meals, rooms, bar, pool, just everything was perfect.
Highly recommended for the quality of everything including the outstanding views and settings, to the reception staff, dining experience/waiters/chef to bar staff by the pool. Excellent and will come stay again. Thanks for making my 50th birthday get away one to remember !

A Tale from... Wilpena Pound Resort - 24 Aug 2013

Pound Magic

We visited Wilpena when a day became available at the end of a short flying trip, the main purpose of which was to cross the Nullabor. Arrived Saturday when there was a fair bit of cloud which frustrated our wish to fly over the Pound Saturday arvo. Decided to book for early Sunday morning. Sunday arrived to very cool but clear conditions and the flight was on. Pilot Mia was very professional and obviously safety-conscious, and was also an extremely informative "tour leader", explaining everything that was happening with the plane as well as providing detailed descriptions of land features. We were lucky to see the Pound with ground fog making for quite magical views. On Saturday afternoon we had also done the walk from the resort to Wangarra lookout, giving us the ground perspective of the Pound. We also found the Resort and Visitor Centre staff extremely helpful and accommodation was exceptional. All in all, a wonderful use of the day that became available almost by accident, another item off the bucket list and an experience we will remember forever.
