Guest Service Attendant

Wildman Wilderness Lodge is a premium wetlands safari travel experience, situated in the Mary River Wetlands halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park. We won the 2012 Northern Territory Tourism Award (Brolga) for Unique Accommodation. We have 25 guest rooms, restaurant, bar, pool, conference room, touring program with cruises and 4WD Tours available.

We are looking for a Guest Service Attendant who is a team player with a hands on approach, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to provide outstanding customer service to our guests.

Duties will include:
• Assist in the front office operation as required
• Assist in the food and beverage operation as required
• Greeting arriving guests and checking into accommodation
• Provide resort orientation and escort guests to their rooms
• Liaising constantly with the housekeeping department ensuring room availability and status are kept up to date and accurate at all times
• Checking out guests and ensuring their accounts are paid in full
• Balancing cashier accounts at the completion of a shift
• Provide service to guests in both the Restaurant and Bar operation
• Take orders and serve food & beverages according to instructions given ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction at all times
• Remove dirty dishes, glasses and cutlery and bring them to the back of house dishwashing area
• Respond to guest enquiries, requests and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner. Take personal responsibility to ensure maximum guest satisfaction at all times.
• Ensure that the back of house work station is kept clean and tidy at all times and reset the tables to the correct standard as soon as they are vacated
• Perform duties enthusiastically and in accordance with the company code of conduct
• Ensure safe food handling standards are practiced at all times.
• Attend departmental briefings, training, meetings etc. as directed by the Supervisor/General Manager.

The successful candidate must possess the following:
• Previous hospitality experience in either front office or food and beverage (essential)
• Previous experience working in a remote location
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
• High standard of personal presentation and grooming
• A flexible "can do" attitude
• Possess good level of spoken English
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
• A friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm
• A willingness to use initiative and solve problems

This position is live-in at the Resort. All meals and accommodation within the staff village is included in the remuneration package at a subsidized rate.

As a Guest Service Attendant with Wildman Wilderness Lodge you can enjoy a rotating roster that will provide you with a great work life balance. In this full-time (seasonal) role you must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts with week-end work also.
