Tour Guide

Wildman Wilderness Lodge is a premium wetlands safari travel experience, situated in the Mary River Wetlands halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park. We recently won the 2011 Northern Territory Tourism Award (Brolga) for New Tourism Development. We have 25 guest rooms, restaurant, bar, pool, conference room, touring program with cruises, quad bikes and 4WD Tours available.

We are looking for a Tour Guide who is a team player with a hands on approach, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to lead and motivate our guests whilst on tour.

Duties will include:
• Provide an experience for guests whilst on tour, with accurate knowledge and storytelling capabilities
• Maintain great communication between all parties
• Anticipate guest needs
• Operate a tour vehicle with due care and consideration
• Provide food and beverages to guests whilst on tour
• Answer questions and follow up on any guest requirements
• Maintain knowledge base
• Clean tour vehicles
• Porterage
• Guest transfers

The successful candidate must possess the following:
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for the outdoors
• Hold a Current Full Drivers licence
• 'H' endorsement
•  Senior First Aid Certificate
• Light Rigid Licence or higher
• Current Marine Class 5 license or above would be an advantage, however, training and licensing tests can be provided
• All guides need to have completed the Kakadu Knowledge for Tour Guides course, or only have minimal modules to complete to be suitable for this role

This position is live-in at the Resort.  All meals and accommodation within the staff village is included in the remuneration package at a subsidized rate.

As a Tour Guide with Wildman Wilderness Lodge you can enjoy a rotating roster that will provide you with a great work life balance. In this full-time (seasonal) role you must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts with week-end work also.

Housekeeping Attendant

We are looking for a Housekeeping Attendant who is a team player with a hands on approach, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively.

Duties will include:
• Greet the guest by name and with a smile!
• Follow room cleaning standards
• Communicate with the General Manager
• Anticipate the needs of the guest
• Room and public area cleaning
• Complete training as required

Qualifications/Skills Required:
• Previous Housekeeping experience
• Possess good level of spoken English
• Be legally able to work full time hours
• Availability across a rotating roster
• Integrity and excellent customer service skills

Food and Beverage Attendant

We are looking for a Food and Beverage Attendant who is a team player with a hands on approach, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively.
 
Duties will include:
• Greet the guest by name and with a smile!
• Provide outstanding food and beverage service in our restaurant and bar area
• Take guest orders and communicate with the kitchen to ensure guest satisfaction
• Remove unwanted or dirty dishes and return to the kitchen
• Ensure restaurant and bar areas are clean and tidy
• Reset tables to the correct standard
• Ensure back of house areas are clean and tidy
• Ensure food safe handling standards are practiced at all times
• Communicate with the General Manager and your supervisor 
• Anticipate the needs of the guest
• Complete training as required

Qualifications/Skills Required:
• High standard of personal presentation and grooming
• A flexible "can do" attitude
• Previous hospitality experience
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
• Possess good level of spoken English
• Be legally able to work full time hours
• Availability across a rotating roster
• Integrity and excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
• A friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm
• A willingness to use initiative and solve problems

Demi Chef

Wildman Wilderness Lodge is a premium wetlands safari travel experience, situated in the Mary River Wetlands halfway between Darwin and Kakadu National Park. We are looking for a Demi Chef who is a team player working with our Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen department. You must have a hands on approach, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to cook really good food.

Duties will include:
• Food preparation and cooking as instructed by the Head Chef
• Assist with deliveries and stock control
• Create open communication with all areas to ensure the kitchen operation is aware of all daily functions, tours, picnic orders etc.
• Advice of equipment malfunction and ensure repairs are done quickly

The successful candidate must possess the following:
• Team player with excellent presentation & communication skills
• Relevant tertiary cookery qualifications
• Previous experience within a hospitality environment is desirable.
• Possess a good working knowledge of kitchen procedures.
• Passion and deep appreciation for quality food
• High standard of personal presentation and grooming

This position is for the new season start up from mid-February 2012 and is live-in at the Resort.  All meals and accommodation within the staff village are included in the remuneration package at a subsidized rate.
