3-day Cradle Mountain Loop walk, October 2009 |
|
Departing on just three dates in October 2009 this new three day guided walk will start in Cradle Valley and be based from Barn Bluff Hut, located in the north of Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park and within Tasmania's World Heritage area. The hut has hot showers, twin share rooms and offers delicious meals with Tasmanian wine. Each day we will explore a different landscape. On the first day we climb to Marion's Lookout and take in the spectacular views over Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake at its base. We then follow the base of Cradle Mountain, out along the edge of a spectacular glacial cirque then dropping into Waterfall valley which we cross before arriving at our hut at the base of the towering Barn Bluff. On Day Two, Barn Bluff provides the perfect base for exploring the surrounding landscape. You might decide to walk to Lake Wills and Innes Falls or climb the Bluff itself which affords breathtaking views. On the final day of the walk we leave the Bluff and head through rainforest to secluded Lake Rodway and the Artists Pool. With panoramic views of sheer cliffs to meandering trails through snow gums and tea tree, the diversity of the landscape is awe inspiring as we descend to Dove Lake and Hansons Peak for our return journey. Price is $1,350 per person, including:
