Wildman Wilderness Lodge development |
|
Anthology’s joint venture partner in the Wildman development, Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) has owned the site for nearly four years. During this time they have gained a valuable understanding of the ecology of the area, the seasonality patterns and the enormous nature based tourism potential it offers, through extensive engagement with the NT Parks and Wildlife Service, surrounding pastoralists, and local Aboriginal groups interested in providing cultural touring opportunities. It is our great desire to continue this engagement and participate in conservation projects, relevant ecological studies and general land and wildlife conservation. Where possible, environmental best practice technology will be utilised in the generation of power, the treatment of water and sewerage and in all operational aspects associated with the treatment of waste, in providing conservation, and in creating a minimal environmental footprint. All tours and activities will be highly interpretive and educational. The touring program is also now in development and more detailed descriptions will be announced as the plans and logistics come together. However it is fair to say that the area boasts one of the largest crocodile populations in Australia and an extensive list of bird and animal species. Wildlife, as well as the scenic beauty of the area, will be a major focus of our touring. In addition a raft of special workshops focussing on photography, bird watching and nature studies will be rolled out following opening. < Back |
